This is a quiet place, in the midst of all the noise, in which you can think through your ideas. The process ends with a conclusion, even if the conclusion is that you need to think more about this. Once you think through an idea, you cannot unthink it.
Like body muscles, brain muscles need exercise to stay flexible, powerful, and pliable. When we stop thinking, our brain muscles atrophy and become weak and ineffective.
Thinking requires brain activity, with neurons jumping from receptor to receptor and following paths. It is tiring, but it does not hurt. On a good day, the trail left by a juicy thought is quite invigorating. Like the exercise gurus say: "Just 7 minutes a day!" Everyone can find 7 minutes.
Thoughts are like water; they flow. Every time you must wait for something or someone, consider it valuable thinking time (instead of a waste of time). Imagine irrigation canals. It takes just seconds to open a side canal and let some water flow. With this flow, you can move an idea from a question to an answer. When you can, try releasing the water of a dam. With a little more time, you could be thinking your way through to a major life-changing realization.
